Becoming a Center

What is a Jubilee Ministry Center?

A Jubilee Ministry Center is a congregation, an ecumenical cluster with an Episcopal presence, or an agency with connections to the Episcopal Church, already engaged in mission and ministry among and with poor and oppressed people. Each program comes out of the history of its community.What is a Jubilee Ministry Center?

A Jubilee Ministry Center is a congregation, an ecumenical cluster with an Episcopal presence, or an agency with connections to the Episcopal Church, already engaged in mission and ministry among and with poor and oppressed people. Each program comes out of the history of its community.

 

Criteria for Jubilee Ministry Center Recognition

1. Must be an Episcopal Congregation, ecumenical cluster with Episcopal presence, and/or an agency with connections to the Episcopal Church.

2. Must be engaged in programs among and with poor and oppressed people wherever they are located.

3. Must include at least one or more of the followings:

a.) human rights advocacy program
b.) human service program
c.) lay leadership/empowerment program

4. Must be willing to:

a.) reflect theologically upon its learnings in ministry
b.) demonstrate the operation of its programs to others as models
c.) act as a resource center for other Jubilee Ministry CentersWho may apply to become a Jubilee Ministry Center?
